Pastels: Colour & Texture Weekend Workshop

The Arts Centre Cootamundra, 9:30 am - 4pm Saturday and Sunday 18th & 19th of May

a 2 day workshop with Jennie Forster of Pastels: Colour & Texture. $160 per person for 2 days booking by Friday 10th of May with payment, to book contact The Arts Centre on (02) 6242 4773 between 9:30am and 1:30pm Tuesday to Friday.

Student Requirements: 2x Black Art spectrum colourfix paper, plus any other coloured papers of choice. (Warm mid tone) Pastel pencils (only if you have them) Apron, paper towel or tissues, eraser, old bristle brush. Backing board (if needed) and masking tape, easel.

Reference photos of landscapes, clouds, or rural scenes of choice. Pastels Soft (bring what you have). When you work in pastels you do require a lot of colours to get the maximum benefit of the medium - but a basic set should have a warm and cool in all the primary colours (red, blue and yellow) plus secondary colours (green, orange and purple). These in different tones would be good - a soft white (The Schminke brand is awesome) A few strong darks eg. Art Spectrum Flinders red violet and Flinders blue violet.
